We know that beds have been around for years, but when did wooden bunk beds come into fruition? It is said that the bunk bed originated from the loft bed. The loft bed can be traced as far back as the Egyptians, so we can kind of say that bunk beds originated from them, or at least the concept did. It would seem that bunk beds evolved out of over population and lack of space. People may have simply tried putting a bed on top of another, resulting in bunks beds, or they may have decided to use the un-used space under a loft bed and then worked out you could have the two connected.
